It’s not Finasteride, it’s Disasteride! I’ve had my own experience developing post-finasteride IBS and microscopic colitis (which fortunately resolved after being prescribed Budesonide). I took finasteride 5 mg for more than 7 years for BPH. After discontinuing finasteride, I plan to have a bipolar TURP, which I should have considered years ago—correct the structural problem rather than taking finasteride indefinitely (which my urologist recommended!). I’ve been warning everyone I encounter who is still on finasteride for BPH of the potential serious long-term consequences!
