There’s significant pathology associated with taking finasteride. We used to think it was just in those main structures—follicles for hair, prostate—but now we know there’s profound potential impact, centrally, in your nervous system. It can affect your sex drive, your sexual performance, etc., etc… I think about one in 10 guys will have appreciable issues with [finasteride]. I definitely see it. That’s why I never use it in my practice… There are people I know who have [PFS] permanently.
